The Canadian Government is Being Run by Highschool Students
But not real highschool students, because if there were actual highschool students running the show in this country, we'd likely be a lot better off.
Once again Justin Trudeau's government has made it very unlikely that I will ever attempt to write fiction again because really, how can one even compete with this level of reality?
Two major scandals barely a week apart is just another day in the life of our Drama-Teacher-Turned-Prime-Minister.
The echoes of Trudeau's “credible allegations” of the Indian Prime Minister’s involvement in the murder of a Sikh extremist had barely begun to fade before the latest instalment.
Before we get to that, it would be remiss of me to neglect to mention one excellent bit of comic relief that stemmed from this scandal, namely the “credible rumour” announced by former Indian diplomat Deepak Vohra:
In his parliament address, he used the words ‘credible allegations’ against India. How can allegations be credible? Either it can be credible or an allegation. I also have a ‘credible rumour’ to make in this case that ‘Trudeau’ is crazy. It is a credible rumor.
The “credible rumour” was that Trudeau arrived in India with a plane “full of cocaine” and didn't leave his hotel room for two days. Don't know about the credibility aspect of it, but it sure was a great story.
While this was going on, Trudeau took to X (née “Twitter”) to voice his displeasure over those protesting in the 1 Million March 4 Children (emphasis mine):
Let me make one thing very clear: Transphobia, homophobia, and biphobia have no place in this country. We strongly condemn this hate and its manifestations, and we stand united in support of 2SLGBTQI+ Canadians across the country – you are valid and you are valued.
Lest we forget, this is the same Prime Minister who accused the official opposition party of “standing with those who wave swastikas” during the Freedom Convoy. Understandably there were some Conservative party members (particularly the Jewish ones for some reason) who took offense at those remarks.
For context, here are the offending swastikas the Conservative Party had apparently aligned themselves with:
It looks like what Trudeau was really upset about was ordinary people accusing him of being a Nazi. So that's not quite the same thing. Snopes appears to concur.
It seems Justin Trudeau has some issues with protesters, specifically ones he disagrees with.
Regardless, as he was traversing this short time span between these two scandals, it seems Justin Trudeau decided to take a well needed break and while so doing fired off the aforementioned tweet (is it even still called a “tweet”?) before continuing on his way to his next meeting at the House of Commons. This is the event where his party had invited Yaroslav Hunka, an actual Nazi into Parliament, introduced him as a war hero, and gave him a standing ovation after thanking him “for his service”. Oh yeah, and of course these proceedings also included a man of Jewish heritage who also happens to be the President of Ukraine.
As I said, fiction just can't compete with this shit. It's a shame Monty Python never thought of that one. The Indian cocaine plane rumour falls pretty flat in comparison.
Even though House Speaker, Anthony Rota assumed full responsibility for this incident, he was clearly reading from a script and there's a bit of an awkward pause in the middle of his intro where it seems like the light is beginning to dawn. It also seems to me that if he was the one who actually wrote that little speech, that light would have come on a lot earlier than it did. So, are we really to believe that no one else in that government had any idea who this guy was? When you consider that the Ukranian President may well be the highest assassination risk of any world leader at the moment, you'd think they would've been extra careful about who they let in off the street on that day. Seems a bit of a stretch to me, although I've been giving these guys the benefit of the doubt for years. By that I mean I try very hard to assume they're just unbelievably incompetent every time something like this happens. Eventually one needs to wonder if it's even possible that anyone could be this stupid.
Lest we remember
The icing on the cake here is when Liberal party MP and Government House Leader Karina Gould (who is also of Jewish ancestry and had just finished posing for a picture with Mr. Nazi), made a motion to strike the entire incident from the record, which would have effectively memory-holed the whole ordeal. Thankfully the motion was denied.
Back in September of 2019 you’ll no doubt remember, Trudeau's Blackface scandal rocked the world. The funniest thing about that was that even though he took the most flack about it from the Conservatives, it was probably the Conservatives who cared the least about it. In fact, if it had happened to anyone else, anyone else who wasn't so constantly obsessed with race; so absolutely unstoppable in his “calling out” of all things racist; such a holier-than-thou example of progressive idealism - if it had been anyone else, we likely wouldn't even be talking about it today. But it wasn't anyone else, and now the latest incarnation of that glaring hypocrisy has made it all the more obvious.
For his part, Trudeau has assured us that the most important thing about this incident is Russian propaganda and “disinformation”. It's always the Russians, isn't it? Oh, except for world war two, of course. Then it was the Ukrainians.
This bit of history really begs the question: did everyone in the House of Commons that day skip the same class when they were talking about the axis and the allies? The regular Joe (or Jane) living in the 21st century, 80 years removed from that catastrophe could be forgiven for being a little foggy on the details. I would hope to hold our political leaders to a higher bar though. Especially when our deputy Prime Minister is herself Ukrainian and had a grandfather who worked as an editor at a Nazi-owned newspaper. Also, as a youngster, Chrystia Freeland contributed to something called the Encyclopedia of Ukraine, a book which frequently references the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS - the same unit this House Nazi was a part of. You'd kinda think she oughta know something about that. I guess she just forgot.
Whether these people really knew anything or not - and like I said, I try so hard to attribute all this shit to incompetence or stupidity - what this really looks like to me is that they've simply fallen for their own propaganda. Namely:
Russia = BAD
Ukraine = GOOD
If you say it enough times, you really start to believe it. Even though Ukraine is one of the most corrupt nations in the developed world, we all know that Ukrainians are very nice and most definitely require whatever support we can muster, even if it's as simple as a flag in our window (and that is pretty much the extent of it anyway, as it turns out). We've also all seen enough spy movies to know how sinister the Russians are, so no wonder we've forgotten that they were a big part of the reason our kids are not all goose-stepping around their schools every day of the week.
These things always tend to bring out the humour which, though ever-present in society, also seems too often to be just peeking around the corner, so I guess there's that silver lining. The blackface incident, coupled with “elbow-gate” a few years previous, gave rise to weeks of entertainment. Our feminist, anti-racist PM turned black-face tit-puncher. Again, Hollywood writers on strike and this guy just keeps pumping out the hits without so much as a backward glance.
Eight years of this. Barely a week goes by without another global embarrassment, and yet he continues. One gets the impression that highschool students are running the country, although from what I've seen, and from some of the highschool students I've spoken with, I'm not convinced that they wouldn't be doing a much better job if they were.
You'll want to do yourself a favour and watch this short clip of Springtime for Hitler. You can thank me in the comments.
Oh by the way, all members of the Nazi party had to be German-born. So you tossing around the epithet of Nazi inappropriately makes you just like your arch nemesis Trudeau it would seem. Anyone you don't like is a "nazi" lmao
I stopped reading half way through you shilling for a foreign government who attacked their own farmers in the last 12 months. And murdered a Canadian citizen in cold blood. Shame on you, Ken! I couldn't even make it to your two made up scandals.
If you think living under Trudeau is hard I will pay for your family to move to India. 😆
