Canada's Pandemic Response was the Crime of the Century and We Should Never Let it Go
More Young Canadians died from government interventions and media fear-mongering than from covid-19.
Forgiveness is a beautiful thing. More beautiful, it is said, for the forgiver than for the one being forgiven. There's a freedom that comes from letting something go - from refusing to hold on to negative emotions that will just drag you down and feed your bitterness.
But forgetting? Well, that's a bit of a different matter now, isn't it?
This article is not about the cost/benefit analysis of forgiving and/or forgetting. It's not going to try to advocate for one over the other, or even for doing neither. These things are what they are, as is human nature.
One thing I do know is that regardless of how much one purports to forgive, there are many things that, even if forgiven, will never be forgotten.
And then there's the shit that should never be forgotten.
If there's one thing we've learned from our governments and media over the last few years, it's this: Your common sense is worth nothing because we have experts and we follow The Science. Surely real experts and scientists from years gone by are turning over in their graves at the mere mention of these two words today.
The Fact-checkers
As if that particular assault on truth isn't bad enough, enter the “fact-checkers”. Initially those guys may have had a small role to play, but now they exist mainly to muddy the waters and confuse people, if not to actually stifle the truth.
Shortly after news broke of Florida’s Surgeon General discouraging vaccination for younger adults, the fact-checkers came screaming, "THAT'S NOT PEER REVIEWED!!!"
Well maybe not, but who cares? The whole point was that the Surgeon General saw a disturbing trend and said, "Whoa, this is weird, maybe we should stop and think about this a bit." That's the news. Not that 84% of vaccinated people are going to be dead in a month (which obviously was never true to begin with). And that's also what every other level of government should have been doing right from the start as well. Now, to make up for the fact that they didn't do that, they need to criticize those who are.
Then there was the story about Pfizer’s President of Developed Markets, Janine Small admitting that the Covid vaccine was never actually tested to prevent transmission. Immediately the fact-checkers pounced because Pfizer "never promised that it would prevent transmission,” so it wasn't technically an “admission” at all. If this were true, then this really put everything squarely on our frickin' government since they actually were saying that. It seemed like every day, Justin Trudeau was on radio or TV saying some version of, “We get vaccinated to protect others.” But again, the fact-checkers distract from the real issue.
It was later revealed that early on, Pfizer actually did imply that their vaccine would prevent transmission after all.
When I hear the phrase “fact-checked” now, I just chuckle - and then I make sure I dig into the actual facts a little bit more.
The Lockdowns
When the initial wave of lockdowns began in the spring of 2020, I was a bit shocked, and my cynical nature immediately sprang to life. All the worse-case scenarios began to form in my brain even before anything was really implemented. Every single one of them happened, plus a bunch more that I hadn't thought of.
Mark Twain famously said, “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.” During covid, we found out how statistics could lie, and the other two just came along for the ride.
All through the pandemic we heard how lockdowns will save lives, and how if you disagreed with that, you were no better than a serial killer.
Every day we heard attacks on the unvaccinated, like this front page from the Toronto Star:
Then, the facts began to get in the way of a perfect story.
Consider this article from July, 2021 which states that more young Canadians died from 'unintentional side effects' of the pandemic than from COVID. That number is actually about four times more.
Or this one from the Toronto Sun in January of 2021:
Canadian expert's research finds lockdown harms are 10 times greater than benefits
Early in the lockdowns, like within the first month, Stanford professor John Ioannidis (among many others) sounded the alarm on the wisdom of locking everyone down without understanding the ramifications. So, important and knowledgeable doctors and experts were saying this all the way through, and most of them were proven right. Yet their words fell mostly on deaf ears.
I followed the stats that were coming out very closely most of the way through because everything I was hearing on the news sounded really sketchy. I'm not a terribly smart guy, but most of what I found from reliable sources (yes, I did my own research😲) was saying something completely different than what we were constantly being told. Our World in Data is a great source for stuff like this, not to mention well-respected real experts like John Ioannidis whom I mentioned before. Even a very simple analysis of covid deaths versus total deaths should have raised way more questions than it actually did. To be fair, it surely did raise some questions, but it should have been our government and our media asking those questions, but they never even bothered.
The truth is, there were more than enough knowledgeable, educated individuals saying “Whoa! We're focussing on the wrong thing,” but our leaders refused to listen and even slandered these people, inciting public opinion against them.
When you read anything that says it was “the pandemic” that was responsible for thousands of businesses closing, cancelled graduation ceremonies, months of lost education in public schools, spikes in domestic violence, depression, and overdose deaths; when you read that it was the pandemic that caused people's parents to be dying alone in another part of the country or saying their final goodbyes over Zoom, or that it was fear of the pandemic that kept people from going to the hospital when they were sick, or caused them to cancel important surgeries - when you read that it was “the pandemic” that caused all this, you better realize that it was not the pandemic at all, but government intervention that caused all of it. And our state-sponsored media mistress was heavily complicit as well.
If this was all just a big misunderstanding, and if it was simply a matter of “a few honest mistakes” after many discussions with a variety of experts with different viewpoints, then maybe there could be forgiveness. But it wasn't that at all. The only experts ever consulted were the ones who would say, “Yes, sir!” while all the way through, there were sane, reasonable voices saying we were on the wrong track, and every single one of them was brushed off, demonized, and even silenced by government, social media, and other legacy media outlets.
As it happens, many of these same voices were also saying that the accepted narrative of the virus occuring naturally was complete bullshit. This was just another reason to label them all conspiracy theorists.
About that lab-leak theory…
I was thinking about this as I was reading through some of these old articles and then, just as I was finishing this up, I came across this breaking news story from The Guardian:
Covid-19 likely emerged from laboratory leak, US energy department says
So, is it still “Breaking News” when so many respected experts and courageous journalists have been saying this for over two years now? By the way, I heard a rumour that the Pope is “likely” Catholic as well…
Of course, this article is very careful to stress that this was an accident, and had absolutely nothing to do with developing a biological weapon. I'm sure this is true. For now…
By the way, this is the same publication that brought you this headline early in the pandemic:
Ignore the conspiracy theories: scientists know Covid-19 wasn't created in a lab
Gotta love that phrase: “Scientists know…”
Do you expect to hear any kind of apology, or admission, or retraction from The Guardian? I don't.
Once again, they are the experts and it is not incumbent upon you or me to question them. And for many of the “journalists” who write these things, the real experts (in their minds) are themselves.
This just in!
Literally hours before I hit Publish on this post, this article from Bari Weiss' Substack, The Free Press showed up in my inbox:
The Real Science on Masks: They Make No Difference
In case you can't tell from the title, the gist is that the amount of good accomplished by wearing a mask in the middle of a respiratory pandemic is approximately zero. Oh, and this was apparently the best study on mask use to date in this part of the world. Here's a link to the actual study if you enjoy reading things like that.
So in light of this, it's extremely unlikely that that gathering of tens of thousands of maskless truckers on Parliament Hill did anything to increase the covid case count, even though that was supposed to be a legitimate concern.
Another slap in the face of “The Science” and yet another reason for those poor old scientists to continue their dizzying revolutions in their graves. Will these devoted Covidian acolytes finally move on to something a little more believable? Don't get your hopes up - they're much too busy following The Science to concern themselves with actual science.
I've lost count of the number of times we've been told from our leadership in a condescending tone that “We know” this, that, and the other thing will help us overcome the pandemic, only to find that we didn't really know it at all.
In my wonderful country of Canada, news like this gets lost so quickly when every week brings a new government scandal. It's not even possible for one news outlet to cover all of these things properly, but I certainly hope that this particular story never gets lost. It's a bit of a tall order when dealing with our very own Ministry of Truth, but it's become part of my raison d'etre so I plan on doing my part.
There is one thing I know for sure, and that is that I will never forget this shit. In fact, I fully expect to be pissing people off with my bitching years from now if any of the idiots who perpetrated any of this are still in power. I would be very surprised if there is any comparison to what was done here in modern history - and specifically in the history of democracy. So far, our media has demonstrated that they're not going to hold anyone accountable, and the government has long forgotten about it. The job of the people is to keep reminding this government of what happened. Oh, I have no doubt we'll do that on election day, but there are so many other things to remind them about on that day, this one may lose out again. So even when the new guy is in, there will no doubt be some reminding needed so he knows we won't ever let it happen again.
This was without a doubt, the crime of the frickin' century, and I will never let it go.
Yes. “Trust the Science" and “Follow the Science" are code words for “Just Believe our Baloney". It is the language of the cover up racket, that is doubling down in its propaganda and new censorship experiments (proposed collusion with Google in Canada) and accompanying laws denying and criminalising dissent. They will never let go until the scientists themselves finally mutiny. In this age of big funding and big money, the organised perps leveraging government, finance, the media and academia have the upper hand. Until the scientists and doctors decide it's time to stop following orders. If they don't, it proves what a pathetic lot is humanity, and as a “bought" and mesmerised collective we deserve to be herded. (It pisses me off, and that's why I fight. Joining up is out of the question, it is losing oneself, no longer owning one's soul). And it's been the attitude and the gambit of the perps from the start: The sheep deserve to be eaten by the wolves, especially if they voluntarily walk straight into the wolves' mouths. Our choice. So, the battle is won or lost in each soul. As always.
Science doesn't mind being questioned, it relishes the process of being proven right (or wrong) every single time. Tyrannists can't handle any questions, period.
